About Us

Prof. Patrick Kareru, PHD — Founder & Director.

Our Story

In the heart of Juja, Kenya, stands Dotcom Industrial College — a place where ambition meets opportunity, and where hands-on learning turns dreams into reality.

When Prof. Patrick Kareru, PhD, took the helm as Director, the vision was bold: to create a modern vocational and technical institution that prepares students not just for jobs, but for lifelong careers and entrepreneurship. With a strong background in industrial chemistry and over a decade in education, Prof. Kareru brought both technical expertise and an unwavering belief that practical skills change lives.

Under his leadership, Dotcom became more than just a college — it became a hub of innovation and applied learning. From laboratories buzzing with chemistry experiments to ICT labs where young minds code their first programs, every corner of Dotcom speaks of creativity, skill, and purpose.

The institution’s programs grew to span applied chemistry, product development, cosmetology, ICT, and technical trades, each designed with 80% practical training so students leave ready for the workplace or to start their own businesses. Courses in cosmetics, detergents, herbal medicine, industrial formulations, carpentry, cybersecurity, and more brought students from across Kenya, all eager to learn by doing.

Partnerships with NITA and KNEC ensured the training met national and industry standards, while outreach to businesses, suppliers, and government bodies opened doors for job placements, internships, and start-up opportunities.

Prof. Kareru also understood the power of modern branding and outreach. Digital campaigns, influencer partnerships, testimonial videos, and beautifully designed prospectuses brought Dotcom’s story to thousands of potential students. Scholarships and onboarding kits welcomed them not just into a college — but into a community.

Today, Dotcom Industrial College stands as a beacon of practical education in East Africa, with a vision to keep expanding, innovating, and empowering communities through skill-based learning. It’s not just a place to study; it’s a place to build your future.
